The words that hurt the most come from your own dialogue. When life gets tough you are your own worst critic.
I'm writing to remind you and myself to be kind. Remember that you're doing the best you can, and if you aren't then make a positive change. Don't assume what others are thinking about you. Believe great things about yourself. You can still be humble and confident. You're going to make mistakes. Admit them, try to fix why it happened and move on.
Give yourself a break, eat some ice cream, go on a run and say five nice things about yourself everyday.
xoxo
Sending positive vibes your way!! You're totally right that we all could be a little kinder to ourselves, so eat the ice cream :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely needed to read this today. I've been in the same boat and my inner dialogue has been pretty harsh. I love the little reminder at the end, this is definitely a must read post for, well - everyone :)

I love positive posts like these -- we definitely need to be more kind to ourselves because we are doing the best that we can.

Sometimes it's hard when people are always reminding you to be kind to others, but it's super super important to be kind to yourself!

Best reminder! I hope things get better for you Ashley! Self-talk makes all the difference. Love the reminder to say nice things about yourself every day. I've been trying to make a conscious effort to appreciate how my body works for me.

This is so helpful. We can be our worst critic. It's a great reminder to take it easy on yourself a bit and notice what you ARE accomplishing.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great reminder for everyday. It would be pretty to put that picture as your phone background to remind you everyday! I'm my worst enemy. I'm seriously so mean to myself and I can't help it - I bully my own self! I think it's something we all have to work on but tend to forget we have to work on..

Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the things I don't want to go wrong, I forget about everything that is already going right! I will definitely be grabbing a scoop of ice cream after your feel good post! Sending good vibes your way!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an amazing reminder! I was in yoga tonight and I let my focus drift and let the negative committee in my head start piping up about everything I wasn't doing right or well. I am constantly my worst critic to an amazing degree- it's so easy for me to say nice things about others and not about myself.
ReplyDeleteI hope your valleys and hills smooth out a bit.

Negative self-talk can be so harming, such a plague affecting many young women these days. Very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteWhen things don't exactly go as planned it's hard to remember to take it easy on yourself. We're much harder on ourselves than we are on others. Such a great reminder and hopefully you remember it as well. I hope it all smooths out for you.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh girl, I needed this post today! I've been feeling so down and out lately but being mean to myself doesn't help anything. You are great! And if you need someone to talk to, I'd love to chat!

This is such a great reminder. I am so guilty of being too hard on myself. Sometimes I feel like there is always something that I could have done better, fit more to-do list things into my day, gone to the gym more times that week, etc. But self sabotaging thoughts like that only end up hurting me and making me less productive!

Amen, amen, aaaaaaaand amen. It's SO ridiculously important to be your own best friend. AND to indulge in the occasional ice cream cone. (;

I completely agree that we are our own worst critics! I put more pressure on myself than anyone in my life ever could. I hope that whatever is stressing you out is smoothed over soon :)

This was such uplifting words. I definitely needed to read this. I've been having some crazy wake up calls lately and honestly I've been so hard on myself. I just need to take a deep breathe, relax and take everything one day at a time :)
ReplyDeleteThis post is a great reminder to give yourself a break! Just because you're not where you want to be doesn't mean you're failing- you're just on your way!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great way to remind ourselves to focus on us and not on what anyone else thinks about us...we determine our present and future....
ReplyDeleteI definitely needed this. So often, I allow my own opinions of myself to convince me that that's how everyone feels about whatever current issue I'm dealing with. Thanks for this little reminder that we're truly our own worst critics!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great reminder for everyone. It's so easy to be critical of yourself when life doesn't seem to be going the right way, but it's the harder choice to be positive all of the time. I hope this coming month gets a lot better for you!
