Boston Weekend Guide

This past weekend in Boson was amazing! Spending time with my favorite person and exploring a new city was just what I needed.

Friday
I had an informational interview in the financial district, and took the T from the airport. If you are flying to Boston, I would suggest using the free airport shuttle to take to the T, then take the T into Boston! It's fairly easy to use, and I got around just fine!

I hung out on State St. with my suitcase for around four hours, then finally decided to check out the area! I ran into Faneuil Hall as well as Quincy Market, which was really cool.

After my informational interview, I headed to the site of the Boston Massacre to take T to Northeastern to meet MB
We grabbed a bite to eat at Panera, and went to Whole Foods to grab snacks for the weekend. (Am I the only one who eats more than their significant other?)

After that I wanted to walk around more, so we walked over to Fenway to take some pictures. After that we grabbed a beer at Boston Beer Works. I had a blueberry and watermelon beer, which was okay. I liked the blueberry beer better for sure!

We went back and went to bed kind of early because I was exhausted. #7amflight

Saturday

We got up and wanted to start the Freedom Trail right away. After a bagel from Panera, we headed to the T station for some Dunkin Donuts coffee and a ride to Boston Commons where the Freedom Trail starts. We walked the trail and had a great time! For lunch we stopped in Quincy Market during a quick downpour. I grabbed a fried clam roll, and MB had barbecue chicken mac and cheese. Both were pretty delicious.

We walked the trail, and even climbed the Bunker Hill Monument (#294steps)

Afterwards I was really tired so we headed back to MB's apartment to decompress and hang out in the A/C for a bit. We then got ready and headed out to dinner at Antonio's in the North End. I had the best lobster ravioli, and MB had a chicken frittata. It was delicious, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great meal in Boston!

We walked around a bit, and ended up back at Boston Commons. After that we headed back for the night.

Sunday

Sunday = Brunch Day. We headed back to the North End (if you can't tell that's my favorite place in Boston) for brunch at this restaurant called Tresca. It was a little pricey, but the food was amazing.

We then headed over to the JFK Library, and spent some time there. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
My favorite person in the world

After the library we went back to Little Italy and grabbed Mike's Pastry canolies  and then coffee from a little cafe near by. We headed to the cutest little park and ate them while just enjoying the weather!

After that we headed back to MB's apartment and ate some fruit. (Too much sweet for me that day!) We watched The Butler, then went to sleep.

Monday was simply a travel day for me. But it was a long one!

I wish the time I had to visit was much longer. I had the best weekend with MB, and every time I see him I wish more and more that we were done with long distance!

Anything I missed in Boston? Where is your favorite place to travel?

xoxo

  1. Seriously I am so happy that you got to spend a weekend in one of my favorite cities. :-) If you were here longer, I would have told you to take the Amtrak Downeaster and come up to Maine for the day, and I would have showed you around where I'm from! (I'm only an hour and a half from the city.) Sounds like you really packed as much of Boston as you could into the weekend though, right down to the Dunkin' coffee! ;-)

  4. Love your photos, it looks like such a happy adventure. Blueberry and watermelon beer sound interesting, haha, I feel like I would either really like it or think it was disgusting.

  5. This trip sounds very fun! Even though you were only there for a few days it seemed like you both got to see a lot of Boston that weekend. Plus, the best way to see a city is through their restaurants!
