My New Apartment: February 2015

I finally ended up getting some pictures of my new bedroom! I was able to paint my own room, and choose a gray color because it went well with my navy and white color and its light enough! I warn you there is going to be a lot of pictures!

Here is just a cute accent piece. There are some pictures from my trip to Seattle!

I have a lot of closet space, so I love being able to hang pieces up which is easier for me to visualize outfits.

Got to have my Audrey Hepburn! I love my little bed space, with a monogrammed pillow case and a sweet devotional. I also have a picture of MB & I, with a water glass and some flowers to liven up the room.
My dresser! KG obviously makes an appearance, and she even made me a monogrammed painting! I love all of my pearls, and I have lots of nail polish.

I really needed this bookshelf for extras!

My desk! I love my monogrammed pencil holder and paper holder!

The side of my desk is definitely a zone for bags to be dumped!

My cork board! Lots of pictures and quotes to keep my motivated!

My comfy bed! It may no look like it but I have 4 layers on my bed, including a heated blanket!

I actually love hanging out in my room. It's warm and inviting, and definitively a reflection of my personality! I have a couple more items I would love to add, but there is only so much on can do with limited time and money! I was really lucky because the only furniture I have to buy was my desk and bookshelf, it may be mismatched but I think it gives my room a little college character.

Do you enjoy decorating? What are some of your favorite places to find items?

Autumn Bucket List

Happy first day of Autumn/Fall!
Here is my Fall Bucket List! I will update you as the season progresses!
Fall is the time I am always nostalgic for. It reminds me of home. Of football games, high school boyfriends and friends. Of bonfires and best friends. If I could describe high school in one word, it would be fall. My best memories are from fall in high school. Fall meant debate (my lifeline), school (which I loved) and plenty of reasons to hang out with my friends. At university I am busy, but my campus is beautiful. MB is hopefully coming to visit in October, and I can't wait to show him the trails! They are beautiful this time of year. Follow my Instagram (to the right>>>) for some beautiful fall pictures..

What is on your autumn bucket list? Any you would add?
Have a wonderful week

Striped Letters

Since this year I'll be living in an apartment on campus, I decided to make cute letters for each of my roommates to put on our bedroom doors!

I got the letters at Hobby Lobby as well as the acrylic paint and paint brushes. The total project was about $10. The tape I found at home, if not you could find it at basically any store like Walmart, Target, and Walgreens

1//Make sure all of the stickers are off of your letter (I accidentally painted over one and had an interesting time getting it off.)

2//Paint the entire letter white. Including the sides, but not the back. I would suggest at least two coats. Let the first coat dry before applying the second one. Also, paint the same direction, it makes the finished product look neater.

3// Take your masking tape and tape your entire letter vertically, then remove every other piece of tape. This way you get equal sized stripes. After this press down on the edges of the tape so that paint doesn't leak onto the white

4// Paint the non-taped parts (painting the same direction). Sometimes you need two coats depending on the color. Make sure you paint the sides too!

5// Once the paint has dried, peel off the tape and look at your new letter! You might need to make some touch ups, which I would recommend a small brush for!

The Finished Product! They really brighten up our apartment:)
We used sticky puddy to hang them, but Command Strips would work also!
A room post to come soon!
Happy crafting
