Everyday Pearls: Life as a College Senior

HELP! Writing the words "college senior" and "graduating in December 2015" is terrifying. The past month has been an absolute whirlwind, but filled with so many good things. I haven't updated you on life lately (August was basically working and sleeping and working some more). Being a college blogger isn't always glamorous, and I see a blog break at the end of October in my future. But anyway, here's what I've been doing!

My pledge sister turned 21!

One of my best friends SB came to meet me for margs and life catching up.

My biological sisters, and three girls who are basically my sisters at the farmers market one Saturday.
My beautiful big got married!

Des Moines isn't so bad.

Breakfast with my favorite guy!

These women keep me silly and grounded

One of my perfect littles!

Two of my favorite girls to spend time with!

One limb of my family tree!

MB PROPOSED! I am officially engaged to my favorite person in the whole world! Matt (MB) is now my fiancé and we're just enjoying being engaged! It'll be a longer engagement because of some life events, but I honestly couldn't be happier!

(He proposed the night before the Packer v.  Seahawks game, and so most of our pics are from the game:))

Life is crazy but oh so happy. It's been a whirlwind, and I still forget to call Matt my fiancé. But I really don't think I could be happier! I have a huge event that I'm co-chairing with one of my littles, and it's coming up so quickly. Thank goodness wedding planning can wait!

How's life for you? What are you looking forward to in the coming weeks?

Everyday Pearls March 22nd!

There is no such thing as easing back into spring break! This past week was so much fun though, and it's nice to get back into my routine. Since being back I've put extra emphasis on my health. Working out regularly and eating healthy are huge. I'm also managing my time better in order to sleep more.

Here's what I've been up!

We went to a trampoline park to bond with our pledges this semester. You could say I had fun.

My Little #2 EK! Love this girl, she's so sassy and driven!

Selfie Central on my way to see Scotty McCreary
My grand little! Love her!

Badgers in the Final Four!

Waiting for Scotty (we just HAD to get there early)

This woman is really my everything. My best friend, roommate and favorite date!

#TSM Very white girl with our letters, starbucks and (not pictures) leggings.

My two littles, we volunteered together at the Great Bunny Train Sunday morning!

Cutest bunny ever. With one of the cutest littles ever.

Have you ever seen the show Greek? We do it for the children. (Please tell me someone got that reference!)

Everyday Pearls

Y'all it's been a rough couple of weeks, I won't lie. Le blog had to be de prioritized unfortunately. Here is what I've been up to during midterms and my spring break!

MB's formal was the weekend in the middle of midterms, but the drive down to Des Moines was totally worth it. Des Moines makes me fall in love a little more every time I visit. Since it was so nice out on Saturday we went to get cupcakes and for a walk around a lake in Des Moines. It was really beautiful.

The next week was full of Starbuck's work sessions and lots of late nights. Thank god for my best friend JP, we had a great stress relieving night Thursday before I left to go home for the weekend.

The weekend was spent celebrating my little sister's 14th birthday (where has the time gone?). MB came home and spent the afternoon with my family on Sunday celebrating AJV & watching the Badgers beat Michigan State to take a number one seat in the NCAA dance! On Wisconsin!

Monday morning MB & I drove up to Green Bay to spend a couple days on a mini vacay! We visited Lambeau Field and took blog pics with my roomie. It wasn't too glamorous, just a lot of House of Cards, Girl Scout cookies and relaxing. We went bowling with JP and I beat Matt one game, and barely passed 50 points the second!

Wednesday we drove home, and then left again that night to hang out with the other half of us KG & AD in Madison. We had a great time watching scary movies and enjoying AD's amazing brunch! Thursday we headed home for the rest of the week. I spent the rest of the day vegging and going shopping with my little sister.

Friday was spent applying for internships and writing blog posts (so excited y'all!)

Today I'm spending time with MB's family, and laundry! I think I might be sort of ready to head back to school tomorrow, but who knows!

On a more serious note, many of you may not know that my dad is actually a detective for our local police department. I couldn't be more proud of his more than twenty years of service. Please read this article on what it's like to be a police officer's child "Protected, but Scared"
This article echoes my thoughts almost exactly.

PS #Sorrynotsorry for all of the couply pictures. The past two weeks just have happened to be full of time for MB and I to see each other!

Everyday Pearls: Weekly Recap February 1st

Whoo I can't believe it's Friday night already. I thought that this week would drag on because MB just arrived for the first time to visit me in Green Bay! I was super excited on Monday and thought that this week would take forever. But I am learning that this rarely happens, and since I'm so busy it normally flies by.

Monday I applied for a lot of internships! If you know of any internship opportunities in Boston, please let me know! If you're looking for internship application organization, check out this post!

Tuesday was crazy busy. We had our first campus snowfall since I've been back, and I realized how much I will miss my campus when I graduate at the end of this (calendar) year.

Wednesday was our club fair on campus! I love sitting at my sorority's booth because we get to hang out with the fraternities too since we all sit together. This was my first time seeing a lot of the fraternity men, and it was fun catching up. Wednesdays are long, but I also went out to half-apps at Applebees with my sisters. It's one of my favorite traditions, and I loved being able to catch up with my sisters outside of the meeting!
Our booth!

My little! So excited to be back at it with her!

Thursday my roommate JP & I did a Target run, complete with Starbucks (of course). It's one of our favorite traditions, and I picked up some really great things for my apartment! We decided that we would only make Target runs together once a month, because it never ends well for our wallets.

Here are a few of the items I picked up!

Friday I had class and worked, but I was really proud of myself because it's the second week in a row I worked out 3 times! It's quite the accomplishment for me, and I'm really noticing the positive differences of working out more!

Friday my sorority baby (daughter) came over for dinner! I haven't seen her in months and I really missed her. She graduated in December, and I'm so proud of her! A couple of my other sisters came over after we had dinner so they could meet MB.
MB and I are hanging out now as I update my post!

How was your week? Where are you looking for internships?

Everyday Pearls: Weekly Recap January 31st

Happy Weekend! I decided to start a new weekly series called Everyday Pearls. Looking back on posts I realized I tend to do huge everyday photo dumps every couple months or so. This is a way to prevent that, and hopefully y'all will like it!

I moved in to my new apartment this past weekend. It's definitely been an adjustment, but I'm so happy to be living with one of my best friends. I'm almost done putting my room together, I just MB to do a couple things when he visits next week!
Sneak peak!

Transitioning back to Green Bay has been a lot more rocky than I expected. I basically stepped away from my life in Green Bay for 8 months, and coming back has been really emotional. Things are similar, and they are very different. Thank goodness for my sisters though.

I open at my job 4 days a week, so I've been creating my morning & night routines. Look for a post coming soon on how I structured my mornings and nights!

Thursday night my roomie JP, one of our other sisters and I headed to the Brad Paisley concert at the Resch Center in Green Bay!
CC (A new sister), JP & I!

Oh Hey Parmalee

If you get the chance to go to a Brad Paisley Concert, DO IT. Easily one of the best shows I've been to.

My Friday night was pretty boring, I wrote some posts, did some homework and watched the new Shonda shows.

Can't believe that this is what my planner looks like during the first week of school. What happened to syllabus week?

This weekend I'm picking up some extra shifts at work, catching up with sisters and getting ahead on my reading.

How many weeks have you been at school? I'm not nearly as ready as I thought I was to be in four upper level courses!

xoxo
